ACTIVITIES Cachets - Architecture On 4 June 1979, the
United States Postal Service released a four stamp set honoring architecture
in the USA. Scott issued numbers 1779 through 1782 for the four stamps as
follows: 1779 - Virginia Rotunda, by Thomas Jefferson, 1780 - Baltimore
Cathedral, by Benjamin Latrobe, 1781 - Boston State House, by Charles
Bulfinch, and 1782 - Philadelphia Exchange, by William Strickland. The Kingdom Philatelic
Association devised a cachet for the first day issue cover.
