STROMBERG

‘The Name of a Perfect Carburetor’

 

SERIES A

 

Bronze updraft with glass bowl. Waterjacketed. Produced approximately 1909 thru 1913. Sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7; respectively 1 inch thru 2.5 inches.

 

SERIES B

 

Bronze updraft with glass bowl. Non-waterjacketed. Produced approximately 1909 thru 1913. Sizes 3, 4, 5, 6, 7;  respectively 1 inch thru 2 inch. NOTE: B-series sizes are different from S.A.E. sizes. B-3 is S.A.E. size 1 thru B-7 is S.A.E. size 5.

 

SERIES C

 

Bronze updraft with glass bowl. Waterjacketed, double jet design. Produced approximately 1909 thru 1913. Sizes 2, 3, 4, 5, 7; respectively 1.25 thru 2.5 inches.

 

SERIES D

 

Bronze updraft with glass bowl. Waterjacked. Produced approximately 1913. Sizes 3, 4; respectively 1.5 and 1.75 inch.

 

SERIES G

 

Bronze updraft with glass bowl.  Non-waterjacketed. Produced approximately 1913 thru 1915. Sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5; respectively 1 inch thru 2 inch.

 

SERIES H, HA

 

Bronze updraft with glass bowl. The HA is waterjacketed; the H is not. Produced approximately 1915 thru 1920. Sizes (both styles) 2, 3, 4, 5, 7; respectively 1.25 thru 2.5 inches.

 

SERIES HB

 

Bronze sidedraft with glass bowl. Non-waterjacketed. Produced approximately 1915 thru 1920. Sizes 1, 2, 3; respectively 1 inch thru 1.5 inches.

 

SERIES K, KO

 

Bronze updraft. Non-waterjacketed. Produced approximately 1915 thru 1916. The K is a straight-flange design while the KO is a cross-flange design. Size (both)  1 (1 inch).

 

SERIES L, LB, LF, LS

 

Bronze updraft (L), sidedraft (LB), sidedraft replacement (LF), updraft with side air intake (LS). Produced approximately 1915 thru 1919. Sizes (L) 1, 2, 3; (LB) 1, 2; (LS) 2; Sizes same as S.A.E. The LF was designed for replacement use, primarily Ford model T.

 

SERIES M, MB, MP

 

Bronze updraft (M), sidedraft (MB), updraft with side air intake (MP). Produced approximately 1915 thru 1927 (M); 1915 thru 1920 (MB); 1924 thru 1927 (MP). Sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9 (M); 1 inch thru 3 inch; 1, 2, 3 (MB); 1 inch thru 1.5 inches; 2, 3 (MP); 1.25 and 1.5 inches.

 

 

SERIES NS

 

Updraft carburetor for marine use. Production year range unknown. Listed in 1925 catalog. Sizes 5 and 7; respectively 2 inch and 2.5 inch.

 

SERIES O, OA, OC, OE, OF, OO, OS, OT, OU, OX

 

Bronze construction. Approximate years of production and characteristics below

   O     Updraft; 1919 – 1929; sizes 1, 2, 3; respectively 1 inch thru 1.5 inches.

   OA  Updraft, economy model. 1919 – 1925; size 1 (1 inch)

   OC  Sidedraft. 1920 – 1923; size 2 (1.25 inches)

   OE  Updraft 1920 – 1926; size 1, 2, 3; respectively 1 inch thru 1.5 inches. Some aluminum units.

   OF   Sidedraft 1919 – 1925; designed for replacement use primarily Ford model T

   OO  Updraft duplex; 1928 - 1929; size 2 (1.25 inch) only

   OS   Sidedraft. 1920 – 1925; sizes 1 and 2 (1 inch, 1.25 inch)

   OT   Updraft 1921 1929; sizes 2 and  3 (1.25 inch and 1.5 inch); heavy duty for truck and industrical

   OU  Updraft 1919 – 1924; size 3 (1.5 inches)

   OX  Updraft, cross flange; 1923 – 1928; sizes 2 and 3 (1.25 and 1.5 inches)

 

 SERIES R, RF

 

Bronze or aluminum updraft (R), sidedraft (RF); 1923 – 1927. Size 1 (R); RF designed for replacement use, primarily for Ford model T

 

SERIES SF, SFM

 

Cast iron heavy duty updraft 1931 thru mid 1960’s; SFM models have drain incorporated and are used on many marine applications. Sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5; 1 inch thru 2 inch respectively.

 

SERIES T, TV, TX

 

Zinc-alloy updraft; 1927 – 1928; T straight flange; TX cross-flange; TV replacement; sizes 1 and 2 (T); 2 (TX); 1 (TV)

 

SERIES U, UR,  URO, UU, UV, UXV, UX

 

Last automotive type updraft series. 1928 – 1936. Construction materials vary. Cast iron, bronze, and zinc alloy all were used. U straight flange size 1, 2, 3, 4; UR straight flange size 2; URO straight flange (oversize) sizes 1 and 2; UU duplex sizes 2 and 3; UV straight flange replacement sizes 1 and 2; UXV cross flange replacement size 2; UX cross flange sizes 2, 3, and 4.
